Fog ransomware notes troll with DOGE references, bait insider attacks

Fog ransomware attacks over the past month used a note referencing the U.S. Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) to trick users into spreading the malware. The malware was distributed as a ZIP file named “Pay Adjustment,” likely sent as a phishing email. Once the file is opened, several payloads are retrieved, including a ransomware loader. If the ransom is not paid, the note asks the victim to infect another system to have their files decrypted for free.
