Tenable Finds DeepSeek AI Can Be Manipulated to Generate Malware

A study by cybersecurity firm Tenable shows that DeepSeek R1, a large language model, can be manipulated into creating malware, such as keyloggers and ransomware. Although the AI initially refused to generate the malware, researchers bypassed safeguards through basic jailbreak techniques, raising questions around the security implications of open-source AI tools. The study has led to calls for enhanced safeguards on all GenAI models.
