Belgian cybersecurity firm NVISO has unearthed a new malware strain, linked to the Chinese hacker group UNC5221. This malware, detecting since 2022, conducts covert espionage on European industries. Unlike ransomware, this malware remains undercover, accessing and stealing confidential information. The malware, originally found only in Linux environments, is now also identified in Windows, escalating the threat level.
