Dallas-based company Colossal Biosciences claims to have created genetically modified grey wolves, featuring DNA sequences matching ancient dire wolves. Three wolf litters, including pups named Romulus, Remus and Khaleesi, were created by screen-editing cell lines and cloning using grey wolf egg cells, with domestic dogs acting as surrogate mothers.
