Van Nuys Man to Plead Guilty to Computer Spyware Charge

Edmond Chakhmakhchyan, 25, is expected to plead guilty to a federal conspiracy charge over a scheme to market and sell malware, which allowed buyers to control victims’ computers and steal personal information. The indictment alleges an agreement between Chakhmakhchyan and the creator of the malware, which was sold on the Hack Forums website. If his plea is accepted, Chakhmakhchyan could face up to five years in prison.
