Nissan Leaf Vulnerability Exploited to Gain Control Over the Car Remotely

Researchers revealed that a vulnerability in the infotainment system of second-generation Nissan Leaf EVs allows attackers to remotely control critical functions like doors and steering via Bluetooth exploitation. Demonstrated at Black Hat Asia 2025, the attack exploits a stack buffer overflow and can persist through cellular connections. Nissan plans over-the-air updates to address these flaws by 2025.
