Google Patches Quick Share Vulnerability Enabling Silent File Transfers Without Consent

Cybersecurity researchers discovered a vulnerability in Google’s Quick Share utility. The flaw, identified as CVE-2024-10668, potentially allowed a denial-of-service or unauthorized file transfer. It was a bypass for two previously disclosed weaknesses. Google resolved the issue in version 1.0.2002.2 after the flaws were responsibly disclosed in August 2024. The vulnerability could have been used to gain arbitrary code execution on Windows hosts.
