Native tribe in Minnesota says cyber incident knocked out healthcare, casino systems

The Lower Sioux Indian Community in Minnesota suffered a cyberattack causing disruptions in local healthcare, government, and casino facilities. The tribe enacted incident response protocols and took certain systems offline, attempting to mitigate the damage. The ransomware gang RansomHub claimed responsibility, marking this as another notable attack following others they executed earlier on other tribal groups. ESET cybersecurity firm reported RansomHub has developed EDRKillShifter malware to disable security measures on victims’ systems.
