Counterfeit Android devices found preloaded with Triada malware

A new version of the Triada trojan has been found preinstalled on thousands of Android phones, mainly impacting Russian users. The malware is highly evasive, hiding in the system framework. It’s capable of stealing messenger & social media accounts, hijacking cryptocurrency, and tracking browsing activity. Researchers believe the malware is being embedded into phones before they reach users in a suspected supply chain attack. The total stolen amount is unknown but includes at least $270,000 worth of cryptocurrency.
