The sophisticated cyber espionage campaign operated by Iranian state-sponsored group APT34 has expanded its operational focus from governmental entities to include financial institutions and telecommunication providers across the Middle East. It utilizes new malware variants through spear-phishing emails to evade conventional security measures and targets the critical infrastructure sectors. To counteract the malware, monitoring for indicators of compromise and behavioural analysis defences are encouraged.
