CEO of MLK Community Healthcare, Dr Elaine Batchlor, has voiced concerns over the proposed $880bn in funding cuts to Medicaid, which would inevitably result in the slashing of important services at her facility. MLK has already faced financial hardship, but with ‘more than 75% of the hospital’s patients’ reliant on Medicaid, the proposed cuts “are potentially devastating to our continued ability to provide access and services for our community,” she warned.
