The UK’s healthcare sector is highly vulnerable to cyber security threats, making it the third most popular target for ransomware attacks globally, says a report by Trustwave SpiderLabs. It cites increased risks posed by patient data integration, dependency on outdated systems, and use of interconnected devices. The report calls for enhanced defenses through insights and intelligence, emphasising the potential risks to patient care. Notably, 21% of all ransomware breaches target public health and government healthcare facilities.
