A second game hiding malware has been discovered on Steam’s storefront. The game, Sniper: Phantom’s Resolution, directed users to the developer’s site, where a demo download link actually installed malware onto their PCs. Most users detected the fraud and implemented safe testing methods to analyse the software. The malware was found to be an information thief, acquiring administrator privileges, bypassing Windows encryption and stealing data. The game has since been removed.
