The FBI has warned that free file converters are increasingly infecting users’ devices with malware. Criminals offer services such as easy file transfers but infect converted files with malicious software which can extract personal information like names, social security numbers, and bank details. Such attacks can also infect devices with ransomware, taking control of the user’s device.
