Wyden, Sanders blocked from attempt to pass stand-alone health package

Senator Ron Wyden’s attempt to pass a bipartisan health policy package, which includes changes to the pharmacy benefit manager industry, was blocked by Senator Rick Scott. The package includes policies to extend Medicare telehealth flexibilities, prevent pandemics, address the opioid crisis, and reduce Medicare physician payment cuts. The legislation was not included in last December’s government spending bill and senators are undecided on whether to use elements from it to fund GOP legislation.
