Android apps laced with North Korean spyware found in Google Play

Researchers have found several Android apps, some on Google Play, that secretly upload user data to North Korean spies. They appear as utility apps such as file managers or app or OS updates under different names, but they can gather SMS messages, call logs, location data, files, nearby audio, and screenshots, sending them to servers run by North Korean intelligence officials. These apps target English and Korean speakers. They might also appear in third-party markets like Apkpure.
