Chinese hackers are targeting routers made by American networking hardware company Juniper Networks. The culprits, known as UNC3886, are using specially modified backdoor malware to attack the defense, telecommunications, and tech sectors in the U.S. and Asia. Cybersecurity firm Mandiant first detected their activities in 2024. Users of Juniper devices are being advised to upgrade their equipment and subsequently scan them using Juniper’s Malware Removal Tool.
