Global banking trojan attacks on smartphones surge 196%

Trojan bankers attacks on smartphones skyrocketed by 196% in 2024, according to a report from Kaspersky. They are designed to steal login credentials for online banking and e-payment services. The report found there were over 33.3 million attacks on smartphones worldwide in 2024, with 1.24 million on Android devices. AdWare remained the most common type of mobile malware accounting for 57% of attacks.
