Texas measles outbreak grows to nearly 200 cases; neighboring state reports dozens of illnesses

The Texas Department of State Health Services reported 198 measles cases in West Texas and one associated with the outbreak in the state. The number of cases also tripled to 30 in neighbouring New Mexico. Most cases were unvaccinated patients. Child vaccination rates have declined as parents increasingly seek exemptions due to personal or religious reasons.
