A software developer, Davis Lu, has been found guilty of sabotaging his former employer’s systems by installing custom malware and a “kill switch”. After being demoted at the Ohio-based Eaton Corporation, Lu caused system disruption such as running “infinite loops”, deleting user profiles and triggering a “kill switch” that blocked all users, leading to substantial company losses. He faces a maximum penalty of 10 years imprisonment.
