The BadBox 2.0 malware botnet operation has been partially dismantled, affecting over 1 million Android devices worldwide. The joint operation, led by HUMAN’s Satori Threat Intelligence team, resulted in over 500,000 infected devices being sinkholed and 24 malicious apps removed from the Google Play Store. Efforts from Google and HUMAN worked to eliminate publishers involved in the fraudulent BadBox operation.
