Trojan banker attacks on Android rise 196% in 2024

Kaspersky’s report shows a 196% increase in mobile malware attacks in 2024, with Trojan banker attacks tripling. Cybercriminals are using broader distribution strategies, including malicious links in messages and compromised accounts. Despite this rise, Trojan bankers made up 6% of attacks, with adware being the most prevalent at 57%. The firm advises vigilance and strategies like scrutinising app permissions and keeping systems updated to mitigate threats.
