Kentucky has established the Health Information Data Sharing initiative to improve the healthcare of children in foster care. The project, which allows sharing of youths’ health records among multiple departments, has helped enable better case management and health monitoring for around 8,300 at-risk children in the state. This initiative has also harnessed data from various health services, providing valuable information for this vulnerable group.
