Palau health ministry on the mend after Qilin ransomware attack

The Ministry of Health and Human Services in Palau has recovered from a ransomware attack by the Qilin gang, known for targeting healthcare institutions. The February 17 attack compromised patient data, including billing summaries, names, addresses, phone numbers, and medical information. However, officials believe the potential security impact on individuals is low. While the gang threatened to release the stolen data, no ransom negotiations were held. Normal operations resumed within 48 hours with assistance from Palauan, Australian, and U.S. experts.
