Windows Hyper-V NT Kernel Vulnerability Allows SYSTEM Privileges

Threat actors are exploiting CVE-2025-21333, a critical heap-based buffer overflow vulnerability in Microsoft’s Hyper-V NT Kernel Integration VSP, allowing local privilege escalation to SYSTEM level. With a CVSS score of 7.8, it affects Windows 11 and has been demonstrated in a proof of concept. Microsoft addressed this issue in January 2025, urging immediate patch application.
