Microsoft has identified a resurfaced malware, XCSSET, targeting Macintosh computers. It spreads by infecting Xcode projects used by developers to create apps for Apple devices, disguising its code and hiding within system files that launch when the computer starts. The malware, which can remain active after a restart, collects data from digital wallets and the Notes app. XCSSET has the ability to develop new data-stealing abilities over time. It is suggested that Mac users utilise anti-virus software, download only from trusted sources and employ strong, unique passwords with two-factor authentication.
