With cardiovascular disease (CVD) remaining the leading cause of death worldwide, advancements such as coronary computed tomography angiography (CCTA) offer a noninvasive way to diagnose and treat the disease earlier. However, financial barriers have previously held back adoption. Recently, the US Medicare and Medicaid Services more than doubled the CCTA payment rate, incentivizing the use of the technology, which could lead to earlier detection and more efficient care. This could result in less invasive care and improved quality of life for patients and could potentially reduce healthcare costs.
