Healthcare security lapses keep piling up

Cybersecurity researcher Jeremiah Fowler discovered an unprotected database containing more than 1.6 million records from DM Clinical Research, a Texas-based clinical trial network. The exposed records included sensitive personal and medical details, presenting potential for misuse of information. Recommendations for protection include checking vendors’ advice, changing passwords and enabling two-factor authentication.
