Fish farming companies under fire for information breaches

Seven fish farming businesses have been accused by Scotland’s environment regulator, the Scottish Environment Protection Agency (Sepa), of violating the law by not providing information on fish numbers. The case is reportedly to prevent the spread of lice from farmed to wild fish. However, the companies argue that such data are commercially confidential, attracting criticism from campaigners who demand stricter regulation and transparency.
