Brightline to pay $7M to resolve Fortra hack lawsuit

Virtual mental health provider Brightline will pay $7m to settle a class action lawsuit over the 2023 Fortra cyberattack. It is alleged Brightline failed to adequately protect and safeguard personal information from a foreseeable cyberattack. As part of the settlement, hack victims are entitled to claim up to $5,000 for provable losses or a flat $100 cash payment.
