Can malware be hidden in emojis?

Researcher Paul Butler has developed a way to encode invisible messages in Unicode emojis that doesn’t affect their appearance using their variation selectors, each holding one byte of data. Although it’s unlikely to hide malware, it could bypass human moderators. AI paired with a code interpreter could potentially prevent this by analysing the selectors.
