A Ponemon Institute and Imprivata survey revealed that just 36% of health IT respondents’ organisations consistently apply strategies addressing privileged access risks. Moreover, 47% of all surveyed organizations suffered a third-party data breach or cyberattack in the last year, with 44% of healthcare respondents experiencing a similar incident. The top barriers in managing these risks include a lack of governance, regulatory complexity, and budget constraints. The report recommends maturing third-party risk management and maintaining a consistently applied privileged access strategy.
