Alan Filion reportedly made numerous fake threats to schools, businesses, and high-profile individuals in various US states, demanding cryptocurrency to stop the threats. Even after a search of his home by the FBI, Filion continued making false threats, leading to his arrest in January 2024. He was sentenced to 48 months in federal prison.
