A hacker published a free-to-play game, PirateFi, on gaming platform Steam with the aim of infecting users’ PC with Windows-based malware. The malware, noted as “Trojan.Win32.Lazzzy.gen”, appeared to steal browser cookies, giving the hacker access to various online accounts. The game may have infected over 800 users. Steam has warned affected users and suggested they reinstall their Windows OS to eliminate the virus.
