Ransomware attackers turn to workers for data breach access

Ransomware attackers are encouraging employees to infect their employers’ networks with viruses, according to security vendor GroupSense. The appeal is made in ransomware notifications and seeks details such as login information. However, GroupSense warns the promises of large payouts to employees for such actions are unlikely to materialise. Cyber-criminals are misrepresenting themselves as the more notorious LockBit group, and attempting to recruit employees to facilitate their scams.
