Cybersecurity firm Kaspersky has discovered first-time iOS malware dubbed “SparkCat”, which uses Optical Character Recognition (OCR) to access sensitive information in iPhone screenshots via suspect App Store apps. SparkCat appears to target crypto wallet recovery phrases, enabling hackers to access digital currencies. Despite Apple’s rigorous security protocols, the malware has infected several App Store applications, targeting users primarily in Europe and Asia.
