Globe Life is alerting 850,000 customers to a data breach which may have exposed their personal data. The FPS-providing company discovered the breach after an extortion attempt. The compromised data, which includes names, addresses, DOBs and Social Security numbers, was taken from its subsidiary, American Income Life Insurance Company. Although Globe Life could not confirm whether other individual’s data was stolen, it notified an additional 850,000 individuals as a precaution.
