Malware-infected apps found on Apple’s App Store, targeting crypto wallets

Cybersecurity firm Kaspersky reports that malware harvesting information from screenshots has emerged on Apple’s App Store for the first time. The “SparkCat” malware uses Optical Character Recognition technology to scan and identify text within images on an iPhone, targeting recovery phrases for cryptocurrency wallets. The malicious code was found in several apps, including WeTink, AnyGPT, and ComeCome, sparking question marks over Apple’s App’s security checks.
