Infostealers are the largest new macOS malware group, having grown by 101% within the last two quarters of 2024, according to Palo Alto Networks’ Unit42. The group named three of the most common malware: Poseidon, Atomic, and Cthulhu. Infostealers can lead to data breaches and financial losses. Because of security events, experts warned that macOS users are vulnerable to malware and advised enhanced system monitoring, stricter application installations, and updated software.
