Cybersecurity provider, Picus Security’s recent Red Report revealed that infostealers, malware that targets credential stores, have spiked in use, reflecting an increased market for compromised logins. Through analysing one million malware samples, Picus observed stealth and evasion techniques, real-time data theft, persistence and increased sophistication in attacks. With attackers targeting password managers and browser-stored credentials, it urges the use of multi-factor authentication and avoidance of password reuse.
