The North Korean phishing campaign, known as the “Contagious Interview”, has identified a new macOS malware variant called “FlexibleFerret” that targets developers and job seekers. Despite Apple’s recent updates to its XProtect malware detection tool, this variant can bypass protections, heightening concerns about macOS cybersecurity. The malware installs on devices through a malicious installer package that has legitimate-looking Apple Developer signatures and mimics system behaviours to avoid detection.
Threefold Increase in Malware Targeting Credential Stores
Cybersecurity provider, Picus Security’s recent Red Report revealed that infostealers, malware that targets credential stores, have spiked in use, reflecting an increased market for compromised
