Coyote Malware Launches Stealthy Attack on Windows Systems via LNK Files

FortiGuard Labs has alerted Windows users on a high-severity ‘Coyote Banking Trojan’ targeting financial applications and websites, primarily in Brazil. Infected files use PowerShell commands to connect to remote servers and initiate attacks. The malware aims to harvest sensitive data, can perform actions like keylogging, and take screenshots. Fortinet’s systems detect and block threats, but users are urged to maintain updated security systems and undertake cybersecurity training.
