Globe Life Inc. has suffered a significant data breach affecting over 850,000 users. The breach came as part of an extortion attempt by unidentified cybercriminals who have reportedly shared some of the stolen data. Exposed data includes names, email addresses, Social Security numbers, health information, and more. Though financial information was not accessed, the considerable volume of exposed personal data raises concerns.

Security firm VIPRE handled 7.2 billion emails in 2024 and discovered 858 million instances of spam. About 90% of all emails were classified as spam,
