The European Commission is implementing an action plan to enhance cybersecurity within EU hospitals and the wider healthcare sector. The plan includes prevention, detection and response measures and aims to counter increasing cyber threats. Following 309 notable cybersecurity incidents in 2023, the plan will extend to clinics, care homes, and the broader healthcare supply chain. A Cybersecurity Support Centre will be established and health organizations will be required to report ransomware payments.
