Douglasville-Douglas County Water and Sewer Authority suffers malware attack

The Douglasville-Douglas County Water and Sewer Authority’s servers were hit by a malware attack in November 2024. The authority quickly responded, locking down systems and alerting insurance, law enforcement, and regulatory bodies. Despite the attack, customer impact is minimal, and water and wastewater treatment plants were unharmed. The network has been rebuilt with minimal data loss, and additional security measures implemented.
