Hackers use fake wedding invitations to spread Android malware in Southeast Asia

Cybercriminals are using fake wedding invitations to spread an Android malware called Tria, primarily targeting users in Malaysia and Brunei. The malware, distributed via private and group chats on Telegram and WhatsApp, steals sensitive data from SMS messages, emails, call logs, and messaging apps. The attackers’ main goal appears to be gaining control of victims’ WhatsApp and Telegram accounts to further spread the malware.
