MGM Resorts settles lawsuits after millions of customer records stolen in data breaches

MGM Resorts has agreed to pay $45 million to settle multiple class action lawsuits, following two cyberattacks that resulted in the theft of millions of customers’ personal data. Post outages and disruptions from the 2023 ransomware attack were widespread and cost the company over $100 million in damages. Roughly 30% of the settlement will go to attorney fees and victims will receive up to $75 each.
