The UK’s “SWell” project has developed two simple sessions, in collaboration with Birmingham Children’s Hospital and NHS England, to improve the mental health of pediatric critical care (PCC) staff, who experience higher levels of burnout and stress. The sessions, named ‘Wellbeing Images’ and ‘Mad-Sad-Glad’, encourage appreciative inquiry and emotional reflection, respectively. After their implementation, staff wellbeing and depression scores improved, though further evaluations are needed for long-term effectiveness.
