Malware named J-Magic that uses a “magic packet” to bypass network defenses has infiltrated dozens of enterprises using Juniper Network’s JunoOS VPNs, remaining undetected due to its ability to stay dormant until activated. Researchers found J-Magic running inside 36 organizations but are yet to find out how it was installed. The malware discreetly analyses all incoming TCP traffic, escalating its threats without alerting standard network defense systems.
