The Murdoc Botnet, a new element of the Mirai campaign, is targeting IoT devices worldwide. Uncovered by Qualys, the botnet targets vulnerabilities in AVTECH cameras and Huawei routers to create botnets, with over 1,300 IP addresses implicated since July 2024. The botnet infiltrates machines and uses them for DDoS attacks and malware distribution; Malaysia, Thailand, Mexico and Indonesia are the most affected areas.
